Our Relationship & working style
Design has been woven into our family for as long as we can remember. Lara spent 35+ years building a career in commercial and residential interiors, designing everything from offices to custom homes, all while raising a family and turning every house we lived in into something special. Bridget grew up in that world — site visits, samples on the kitchen table, furniture plans spread across the dining room – and eventually realized she was meant to be part of it too.
Neal Design House began simply because we wanted to create together. What
started as a few shared projects quickly grew into a studio that blends experience
and instinct, history and fresh perspective. Double the warmth, double the taste,
double the ideas — and somehow, it just works.
We design the way we live: by listening first. How you move, gather, cook, rest,
and recharge — all of that shapes the spaces we create. Our favourite homes
aren’t the ones that try too hard; they’re the ones that feel calm, easy, personal,
and lived-in. The kind of spaces that quietly make every day better.
- About Lara
Principal Designer
Lara Neal obtained her BAAID (Bachelor of Applied Arts, Interior Design) from Ryerson University and began her career in Corporate and Retail Interior Design, working with companies such as The Watt Group and the LCBO. After years shaping commercial environments, she shifted her focus to residential design, where she discovered her love for creating homes that feel thoughtful, timeless, and beautifully livable.
For over 18 years, Lara designed residential interiors for her own clients, with her work featured in Style at Home Magazine and admired for its balance of classic style and everyday comfort. She brings over 35 years of experience to Neal Design House—pairing deep industry knowledge with a calm, collaborative approach that clients trust instantly.
Beyond design, Lara is a proud mom of three girls and to Buddy, the family’s beloved (and eyeless) fur baby, who has become an official NDH mascot. Lara is not only a talented designer but a grounding force and an essential part of the studio, bringing warmth, intuition, and heart to every project.

Associate Designer
Bridget Neal brings a fresh, modern perspective to Neal Design House, shaped by her interior design training at George Brown College and a lifetime of inspiration from her mother’s decades-long career. With a background in project coordination, Bridget blends creativity with organization – pairing design intuition with the ability to keep projects moving smoothly and collaboratively.
Her approach is rooted in curiosity, clean aesthetics, and an understanding of how people live today. Bridget loves creating spaces that feel functional, unique, and thoughtfully detailed – rooms that are beautiful but also grounded in real life. She brings a youthful eye, a strong sense of materiality, and a natural ability to connect with clients, making the design process feel easy and enjoyable.
Bridget is the energy and modern voice of Neal Design House, adding a fresh layer of perspective and skillset to the studio’s long-standing foundation of experience and craft.
