About Us
Design has always been part of our relationship. With over 35 years of experience in commercial and residential interiors, Lara has designed everything from offices to custom homes – all while raising a family. Bridget grew up inside that process: site visits, samples spread across the kitchen table, and hand-drawn plans scattered throughout Lara’s office. From an early age, Bridget loved watching her mom work and began using her iPad to mimic Lara’s floor plans. After years of talking about what a dream it would be to work together, Lara and Bridget took the leap and established Neal Design House Inc. Building something together as mother and daughter feels both full circle and incredibly exciting. Double the taste, double the ideas! We design the way we live: by listening first. The way you move, gather, cook, rest, and recharge become the foundation of the spaces we create.
Neal Design House began simply because we wanted to create together. What
started as a few shared projects quickly grew into a studio that blends experience
and instinct, history and fresh perspective. Double the warmth, double the taste,
double the ideas — and somehow, it just works.
We design the way we live: by listening first. How you move, gather, cook, rest,
and recharge — all of that shapes the spaces we create. Our favourite homes
aren’t the ones that try too hard; they’re the ones that feel calm, easy, personal,
and lived-in. The kind of spaces that quietly make every day better.
- About Lara
Principal Designer
Lara obtained her Bachelor of Applied Arts Interior Design (BAAID) from Ryerson University (now TMU) and began her career working downtown Toronto in corporate and retail interior design, where she spent over a decade designing and project managing large-scale commercial and retail environments.
Lara is a designer who understands how buildings come together. She brings both creativity and technical know-how to every project, working closely with architects, contractors, engineers, and trades from early planning through to execution. She isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty or ask the right questions to ensure that every detail is properly executed and that the client’s expectations are exceeded. After years in the commercial world, Lara transitioned into residential design, where she spent over 20 years running her own firm, Lara Neal Design. Beyond NDH, Lara has been married for over 30 years and is a proud mom of three daughters and Buddy, the family’s beloved Mini Goldendoodle. She loves time with family and friends, travelling with her girlfriends, getting away to the cottage on Georgian Bay, and spending time in her garden.

- About Bridget
Associate Designer
After completing her undergraduate degree at Queen’s University and working in events, Bridget always knew interior design was where she ultimately wanted to land. She went on to study Interior Design at George Brown College and quickly immersed herself into the field. Not long into her studies, she began working at a design firm, and eventually convinced her mom to come out of semi-retirement and build something together.
We say Lara is Bridget’s walking, talking design encyclopedia. Growing up around drawings and job sites gave Bridget an instinctive understanding of space, and she has a natural ability to visualize how a room will look and feel long before it’s built.
When she’s not designing, Bridget loves staying active, spending time with family and friends, and finding joy in the small, everyday moments.
